Hi, My name is Jeff Pringle, the owner of Body in Balance Therapies. I am a fully qualified Sports Therapist and Myofascial Release Practitioner based in West Kirby on the Wirral.
I first became interested In therapies after suffering from years of chronic pain myself. I had been a keen sportsman and, like many others, picked up many niggling injuries along the way.
Not knowing any better, I would usually either ignore the injuries or try to ‘push through’ the pain in the hope it would eventually go away.
Unfortunately, this led to me suffering from chronic hip, back and knee pain which not only stopped me from taking part in the activities I loved to do, but also from completing simple everyday tasks for myself.
Following months of pain and being prescribed medicated pain relief, I decided enough was enough and began to try and find alternative ways to fix my problems. I visited various therapists to help relieve my pain including Osteopathy, Sports Massage, Acupuncture and, eventually, Myofascial Release.
I was amazed by the effects these therapies had on reducing my pain, enabling me to regain my independence and get back to the activities I had enjoyed before my injuries.
The improvements I experienced in my overall health and well-being inspired me to embark on a career as a therapist myself.
Initially, I decided to train as a Sports Therapist, completing a level 5 diploma through the Sports Therapy Organisation – the leading Sports Therapy professional body in the UK.
Following this, I spent several years working with local football and rugby clubs, gaining vital experience along the way. I eventually opened my own clinic in 2015 at its current West Kirby location on the Wirral.
It was during this time I began to see clients other than those with sports injuries, with many clients suffering from chronic and long-term pain complaints such as headaches, neck and back pain, carpal tunnel and fibromyalgia.
I found a great deal of satisfaction in helping these clients out of pain and decided this was a direction I would like to take my career.
During my own period of chronic pain, I had been recommended to a therapist who practised Myofascial Release.
From receiving this therapy (travelling to Manchester weekly, no less!), I remembered the enormous benefits myofascial release had given me in reducing my pain and decided this was the way to go in order to help others in a similar situation.
I initially completed an Advanced Diploma in Myofascial Release at Active Health Group in Manchester before going on to complete many short courses and seminars in myofascial release; training with some of the leading therapists in the field.
I then continued my studies further by completing an Advanced Diploma in Myofascial Release with Tracey Kiernan at Blend Therapy Training.
By combining some of my previous training as a sports therapist (soft tissue techniques, joint mobilisations and rehabilitation) with my training in myofascial release, I feel I can offer a unique approach to helping those in acute and chronic pain.
